The Department is responsible for carrying out the following functions:
- Coordinating the development plans for the Agency which are fed into Medium and Short terms and link to be segmented into Short, Medium and Long Term Plan and Budgeting for the Agency;
- Liaising with various Federal Ministries and Departments to ensure that annual budget activities are consistent with nation’s technology objectives;
- Coordinating the preparation of Annual Capital Budget of the Agency in collaboration with the Human Resources and Finance Department;
- Coordinating the development of Annual Work Plan for the Agency;
- Planning the implementation of Annual Management Retreats in conjunction with the Human Resources Department;
- Monitoring and evaluation of Capital Projects and programmes and rendering reports for presentation to the Ministry and relevant Government Agencies;
- Facilitating the development of policies for the Agency and coordinating all policy related issues of the Agency;
- Implementing the numerous existing International, Regional, Continental and National collaborations with the Office;
- Providing Network with relevant Public and Private Partners locally and internationally;
- Providing and production of Annual report of NOTAP;
- Preparation of general guidance for the Agency in assessing potential impacts of different policy options;
- Managing the Agency’s databank and information; and
- Coordinating the activities of the Zonal Office(s).
