Director General NOTAP Bags CIDA Award

The Director General of the National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP), Engr. Umar Buba Bindir has bagged yet another prestigious fellowship award from the Civilian Institute of Democratic Administration (CIDA), Ghana.
Representative of the Director General of CIDA and head of Nigerian chapter of the Institute, Dr. Charles Marcus who performed the investiture ceremony in Abuja pointed out that the award Committee took time to critically analyze the antecedents of the awardee before conferring the award.
He said that Engr. Bindir was selected for the award based on his enormous contributions to the development of Science and Technology in the country and the efficient implementation of the mandate of his agency. He added that when the name of the awardee was submitted for scrutiny, members of the selection Committee were unanimous in approving the nomination having followed closely Dr. Umar Bindir’s contributions towards national and regional development.
He disclosed that the Civilian Institute of Democratic Administration was founded in the year 1999 as a non-political, non-profit making professional organization engaged in the promotion and advancement of effective and efficient practice of civilian administration in countries with democratic structures.
The Director General of NOTAP, Engr. Umar Buba Bindir while accepting the award promised to abide by the ethics governing the fellowship. He said NOTAP shares the values of integrity, accountability, good leadership and eradication of poverty which CIDA stands for pointing out that NOTAP will through its mandates develop and transfer technologies to generate jobs and wealth for our people.
He commended CIDA for its dynamism in not only promoting Nigeria but the region and promised to partner with CIDA in the technological advancement of the West African Sub-region. Dr. Bindir thanked the executive and selection committee of the Institute for finding him worthy of the award out of over 160 million Nigerians, adding that the award which is highly cherished will propel him to work hard for the socio-economic development of Nigeria and West Africa.
