The National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP) has announced the 2025 NOTAP Technology and Innovation Summit (NTIS 2025), which will take place on Thursday, 6 and Friday, 7 November 2025, in Lagos.

Themed “Harnessing R&D and Innovation Potentials of Nigeria’s STI Ecosystem,” the two-day summit is expected to convene key stakeholders from government, academia, industry, development institutions and the startup community. It will serve as a strategic platform for policy dialogue, knowledge exchange, and partnership building aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s science, technology and innovation (STI) ecosystem.

Speaking on the forthcoming event, the director-general of NOTAP, Dr. Obiageli Amadiobi said the summit would play a crucial role in promoting synergy among critical actors in the innovation ecosystem.

“Our goal is to accelerate the transformation of research outputs and creative ideas into commercially viable enterprises that can drive inclusive and sustainable national development,” she stated.

The summit will feature ministerial and keynote addresses by distinguished leaders in science, technology, and innovation policy. There will also be high-level panel discussions on critical themes such as technology transfer, intellectual property sovereignty and preparing Nigeria’s workforce for an AI-driven future.

Other key activities include the official launch of Project NOVA (Nigeria’s Outsourcing Value Acceleration) and the promotion of the NOTAP Local Vendor Policy (LVP) to boost local content participation across economic sectors. Workshops and breakout sessions will focus on intellectual property management, access to innovation financing and capacity development.

Exhibitions will feature startups, research institutions, and technology enterprises, while hackathon and pitch sessions will provide a platform for young innovators and entrepreneurs to showcase their ideas. A special exhibition pavilion will highlight Nigeria’s emerging technologies, research outputs, and development partnerships, reflecting NOTAP’s commitment to bridging the gap between invention and commercialisation.

The summit is organised by NOTAP, in partnership with Crestsage Limited and other strategic stakeholders across Nigeria’s innovation ecosystem. The collaboration aims to deliver a world-class event that underscores NOTAP’s mandate to promote technology transfer, innovation-driven growth and sustainable development.
