Functions and Activities of Corporate Planning (CP) Department.

(1)             FUNCTION AND ACTIVITIES

The Corporate Planning Department is engaged with developing and implementing strategies that drive the activities of other department’s as well as promoting the overall corporate goals of the Agency. The key functions of the department are as follows:-

Coordinate the development plan for medium, short and long term budget preparations for the Agency.

 

  • Liaison with various Ministries Departments and Agencies (MDA’s) to ensure that annual budget activities is consistent with nation’s STI objectives.

Coordinates  the engagements, partnership and collaboration with stakeholders in the public  sector towards alignment of budgetary activities to national STI objectives. This is to strengthen external relationships of the Office with other agencies  in the in-coming years. These engagements with the stakeholders in the public sector strengthens implementation of the policy initiatives of the government , while the partnerships with the private sector consolidates the services provided by the Office.

 

  • Coordinate the preparation of the Agency’s annual capital budget.
    The department coordinates the planning and development of annual capital budget in partnership with other relevant departments.  

 

  • The Corporate Planning Department coordinate and prepares the yearly capital budget plans. The department coordinates the Annual budget planning, by creating financial roadmap for forecasting revenue, analyzing costs, and allocating funds for NOTAP's future goals, and it has evolved from simple financial tracking to a complex management tool.

 

  • Coordinate the development of the Agency’s annual work plan.
    The department Coordinates the development of the annual work plan for the Office as a strategic document outlining yearly goals, tasks, resources, and timelines assist in the establishment of annual work plan for the Office as a strategic document outlining yearly goals, tasks, resources, and timelines to guide the Office in achieving her mandates. 
  • Plan the implementation of the Agency’s annual retreat.

 Coordinates the planning and implementation of the Office Annual Retreat.

 

  • Monitor and evaluate the implementation of the Agency’s Capital Projects.

This focuses on tracking project execution, ensuring value for money, and fostering public trust coordinating the monitoring of capital project implementation, in partnership with relevant departments of the Office. 

 

  • Facilitate the development of the Agency’s policies.

     Coordinate the development of polices of the Office to align with the major policy thrusts of the government.

 

  • Collaborate with international, regional, private organizations on partnerships. Coordinate the engagements, partnership and collaboration  with stakeholders in the public and private sector on bilateral and multilateral relationships of the Office with stakeholders within and outside the country.  

 

  • Network with relevant public and private partners locally and internationally.

 Coordinate the relationship between the Office and public sector organisations.

 

  • Production of the Agency’s annual report.

 Coordinate the development and production of the Offices annual report.

 

  • Coordinate activities of the Zonal Office(s).
    Coordinate the activities of the Zonal Offices to ensure that Nigerian STI stakeholders gain easier access to the activities of the Office at the various geopolitical zones. The details of the established Zonal Office are as shown in the table below:

  1. DIVISIONS:

The department has two divisions, which are:

  • Impact Assessment (IA) and
  • Zonal Office (ZO)
