The Finance Management and Accounts Department (FA) carries out the following functions:

  • Prepare and manage the annual budget of the Office in line with government budgeting guidelines and strategic priorities.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper documentation of all revenue, expenditure, and financial transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with government financial regulations, public service rules, and accounting standards in all financial operations.
  • Process and monitor payments, including salaries, allowances, procurement-related disbursements, and other financial obligations of the Office.
  • Implement effective internal control systems to safeguard government funds and promote transparency, accountability, and efficiency.
  • Prepare periodic financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements for Management decision-making and external accountability.
  • Coordinate internal and external audit exercises, ensuring timely provision of records and prompt implementation of audit recommendations.
  • Provide financial advisory services to Management on expenditure trends, resource allocation, and financial planning.
  • Oversee revenue collection and remittances, including statutory payments to relevant government bodies as required by law.
  • Support procurement processes by verifying availability of funds and ensuring proper alignment with approved budgets.
  • Manage payroll administration, including updating staff records, deductions, and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Ensure prudent cash flow management to support smooth operations and effective service delivery.
