Our Departments
NOTAP plays a key role in Nigeria’s technology system.
Being an Agency of the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology and Innovation (FMSTI),Nigeria. NOTAP was established in response to Nigeria’s need to facilitate the emergence of a strong STI system and equally saddled with the responsibility of tracking the inflow of foreign technology in the country, as well as promoting indigenous technology, research and development results from various institutions in Nigeria.
Our departmental functions are as follows;

Technology Transfer Registration (TTR)
The TTR department carries out the following functions:
i. Evaluation of technology transfer agreements /contracts;
ii. Registration of technology transfer agreements entered into by Nigerian iii. entrepreneurs/ MDAs with their foreign technical partners;

Technology Innovation and Commercialization (TIC)
The TIC department explores the outputs of the knowledge system and promotes viable technologies emanating from the NIS by:
Coordinating the preparation of feasibility studies to confirm economic viability of projects and provide relevant information for entrepreneurs and financiers;

Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
The ICT department Develops and coordinates the execution of NOTAP’s IT strategies to ensure they align with our organizational goals. This responsibility includes assessing the current IT infrastructure, identifying gaps, defining future vision and tactical plans, creating roadmap for implementations that address areas like architecture, cybersecurity, and resource allocation.
Technology Acquisition and Research Coordination (TARC) Department
The department facilitates and coordinates the following activities:
Managing the technology acquisition and research emerging from the Nigerian System of Innovation comprising the tertiary institutions (Universities, Poly/Mono-technics, and Colleges of Education), Research and Allied Institutions

Corporate Planning (CP)
The key functions of the CP department which cut across the three divisions as follows:
a) Coordinate the development and Strategic plan for medium, short and long term budget preparations for the Agency budget activities is consistent with nation’s technology objectives.
b) Coordinate the development of the Agency’s annual work plan.

Technology Advisory and Support Services (Consultancy Services)

Legal Unit
The Legal Department is responsible for the following core functions:
i. Providing legal advice and opinions to Management and Departments on matters relating to technology transfer, intellectual property, contracts, procurement, and regulatory compliance.
ii. Vetting, drafting, and reviewing agreements, contracts, MOUs, and legal instruments involving NOTAP.

Public Relations And Protocol Unit
The PR & Protocol Department is responsible for the following core functions:
i. Media Relations: Building relationships with media professionals, pitching stories, and securing media coverage to promote the organization's message.
ii. Crises Management: Developing strategies to manage crises, mitigating negative publicity, and protecting the organization's reputation.

Finance and Accounts Department
The Finance Management and Accounts Department is responsible for the efficient planning, utilization, and control of the financial resources of the National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP). The Department ensures full compliance with government financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal control procedures in all financial transactions of the Office.
Human Resources Department
This is the service Department of the Agency and it is responsible for carrying out the following activities:
i. Staff Appointment, Discipline and Promotions;
ii. Staff welfare matters;
iii. Training and manpower development;

Procurement
The Department has the following Statutory Functions:
1 Ensuring compliance with Public Procurement Act (PPA) 2007.
2 Interpretation And Application Of Public Procurement Act (PPA) And Regulations
3 Preparation and submission of the procurement plan prepared by the Procurement Planning Committee to the Tenders Board for approval;
